About Us - Family owned and operated for three generations!

It was 1967. Clifford Meidenbauer fell in love with Wyoming County, NY, and its rolling hills, beautiful views and natural beauty. He and a group of investors decided to purchase a property in Varysburg, NY... one with the right terrain to create his idea of a golf course where both novice and professionals could come and play.  His goal was to provide exceptional customer service to his guests while maintaining a family friendly feel.

Scotty, his son, was leading the property until September 20th 2021, when he succumbed to his long, hard-fought battle with cancer. He was an integral part of building Byrncliff to what it is today.

Together,  his wife, Patty (restaurant manager), daughter, Lindsay (VP of sales and marketing), and son-in-law, Brian (president & CEO), are continuing his legacy by maintaining and growing Byrncliff for generations to come.
